Itinerary ;

Located on Scotland’s West Coast we have worked since the summer of 2013 to develop a unique opportunity to photography the elusive Pine Marten in the hours of daylight. We are going to run a limited number of workshops in June / July , this is a great time to see mothers bringing their young to the site. Due to its location the workshop will be for 3 days with a guide. All accommodation, food, drinks, hides and ferry costs are included. The nature of the Pine Martens they’re really only active in the afternoons and into the evening. You will spend three evenings photographing these amazing creatures in a variety of settings that are all carefully planned by ourselves.

What to Bring:

The vast majority of your time will be spent in the hide or outside depending on the Pine Martens behaviour; in terms of clothing you will need some warm and waterproof clothing as it can still be quite cold during the summer months on the west coast of Scotland. There is no walking involved on this workshop at all so you don’t need the appropriate walking boots but one bit of advice is to bring midge repellent and the best product we have found that works is Avon Skin So Soft. It is also advisable to purchase some thin cotton gloves, and maybe a midge head net, we cannot stress how important this is as the midges can be relentless during the summer months. Bed linen is provided but please bring your own towel with you. If you get wet there is a washing machine and tumble dryer inside the accommodation. Because of the nature of the Pine Martens being only active in the afternoons and evenings it is advisable to bring a laptop so we can use the mornings to critique images or alternatively use the morning to relax as there is a DVD player and TV to watch films. It is such a beautiful location and you can always go for walks.

All accommodation, food, drinks; hides are all inclusive of the cost.

Camera Equipment:

In terms of camera kit you will need a tripod and a lens in the range of 300-500mm. You will need plenty of flash cards and batteries.  Please note we have electricity for charging batteries and downloading memory cards.

Please Note:  There is no mobile phone signal or Wi-Fi at all in the Valley where we’re based due to its remote location.

Food is provided so please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
